Viko Yachts continues to fine-tune its range and is now also launching a 26-foot boat. With its steep stem, hull windows and wide cockpit open to the aft, the Viko S 26 matches the S 21 and S 30 very well visually. The hull is 7.80 metres long, 8.50 metres with rudder attached, and 2.80 metres wide. In the version with centreboard, the S 26 has a maximum draught of 1.45 metres and a weight of 1950 kilograms. With a lifting keel and a draught of 1.65 metres, the ballast can be somewhat less and the total weight is 1650 kilograms. The minimum draught with centreboard is 35 centimetres. With a lifting keel, the new Viko has a draught of 50 centimetres due to the keel bomb, which still hangs under the hull even when raised. The 9.90 metre high mast has a sail area of 29 square metres.
There is plenty of space below deck. The berth in the bow is not separated from the saloon. Another double berth is located transversely under the cockpit. The spacious toilet room is located on the port side next to the companionway. The small galley is located directly in front of it. However, this can also be positioned on the starboard side if desired; in this case, a cupboard is omitted, but the previously very short saloon bench on the port side becomes another berth. This means that up to six people can sleep on board. There is space for a propulsion engine under the companionway.
The cockpit is trapezoidal, i.e. it becomes wider towards the stern. The helmsman can no longer reach the opposite seat bulge to support his feet. Instead, there is a pedestal in the cockpit. The mainsheet block is also attached to this and is steered using a stainless steel tiller. There is no need to leave the cockpit to set and trim the sails, as the halyards and outhaul are redirected to the cockpit.
The basic version of the Viko is ready to sail, but comes without any extras such as a cooker or hull window at a price of 22,190 euros.
